International betting firms Nyx Gaming and Sportech have announced that their joint SNG venture will offer online betting in New Jersey thanks to a partnership with Resorts Casino Hotel.
The move will bring Resorts into the New Jersey betting sector after an initial deal with PokerStars was rejected due to the poker giant's inability to get a gaming license. As a result of the deal, both Nyx and Sportech will invest $2 million into the platform, and will hopefully have the system operational by January of next year.
The casino's prospective lineup includes Blackjack, Roulette, and Slots, with a large library of titles set to launch.
Commenting on the deal Sportech CEO Ian Penrose said, "We are delighted to have reached this agreement with such a well-known Atlantic City venue. The establishment of online gaming activities in New Jersey represents an important next step in the development of our US business and we are well positioned for future growth across the US as regulation permits. We have worked closely with Resorts and NYX for a number of months now, and look forward to the planned launch."
Nyx Gaming CEO Matt Davey added: "Resorts is one of the few brands with legitimate claim to New Jersey and holds an iconic position in the industry. The combination of NYX’s flexible gaming solutions and extensive library of high quality game content will be key contributors to the unique positioning and success of Resorts i-gaming venture.”
