Macau's May Gambling Numbers Disappoint

The world's largest gambling destination continued to grow in May, albeit at numbers that were lower than analyst expectations, generating billions in revenue during the period.

Macau gaming officials announced that the former Portuguese colony saw 32.35 billion patacas in gambling revenue for the month of May, which equates to just about $4.05 billion USD.

Those numbers, while very impressive, are still a bit of a disappointment, as industry analysts predicted revenues grow 13 to 15 percent. The 32.35 billion patacas take is a growth of 9.3 percent.
