Bovada Leaves New Jersey

Internet sportsbook, casino, and poker room Bovada has announced that it will cease offering online poker to new players who live in the state of New Jersey, with no reason being given for the move.

The decision to leave the Garden State was made by Bovada via email, in which the group said: “Our partner brand Bovada.lv has chosen to stop new account registrations for residents of the state of New Jersey. Existing account holders will not be affected."

"This is a decision they have taken of their own volition and they hope that their existing customers continue to enjoy all of the products and services Bovada.lv has to offer.”

The pullout does not affect Bovada's sportsbetting or casino operations, which will continue to be operational for the time being. Although no reasoning for the move was given, speculation is that the group is protecting itself in the wake of aggressive speak on by New Jersey authorities regarding unlicensed operators and affiliates.
