World Series Of Poker 2014 Officially Kicks Off

The 45th edition of the World Series of Poker has officially kicked off in Las Vegas, as the first event was launched at the Las Vegas Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

The first event on the roster was the $500 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold'em tournament, which will then segue into larger events like the Big One for One Drop and Main Event, which will offer millions in prizes respectively.

This year more than 80,000 people are expected to participate in the series of tournaments, with more than $200 million up for grabs during the course of the events.

It is rumored that the World Series of Poker will work to integrate online poker into the festivities this year, as online poker is legal in the tournament's home state of Nevada.
