The Borgata Lost $3.2 Million In The First Quarter

The Borgata Casino Resort in Atlantic City had a dismal first quarter of the year, posting a $3.2 million loss while it worked to pay down marketing costs for its online betting brand.

The Borgata, which is owned by Boyd Gaming is claiming that the loss is a one time cost, and that it holds a large portion of the New Jersey online betting market.

The results cost Boyd, who reported narrow losses for the quarter.

Revenues for the company revealed that the company as a whole took a loss of $6.2 million for the quarter ($0.06 per share).
