The 2014 World Series of Poker tournament is set to begin on May 27th in Las Vegas, and will run through July 14th.
The announcement was made by WSOP Tournament Director Ty Stewart, who also went on to speak out on the tournament action surrounding the Main Event.
Several big poker titles will take place during this time, including the Big One for One Drop tournament, which has a $1 million buy-in. Stewart said that he feels confident that the event will max out its 56 player cap, which will award the winning player $20 million.
In addition to live tournaments, the state of Nevada will also capitalize on its legalized online poker environment by offering up several online events as well. Additionally, 200 Main Event seats are up for grabs at WSOP.com through satellite tournaments. Thus far, only 100 of the seats have been claimed.
The Main Event this year will carry a $10,000 buy-in, and will include a $10 million first prize guarantee.
