Macau First Quarter Numbers Rise 20%

The world's largest gaming destination grew by leaps and bounds during the first quarter of 2014, as Macau saw revenues rise by 20% to 102.5 billion Patacas ($12.8 billion USD).

The numbers were revealed in a report by Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, which also released some key details on games.

Baccarat is the overwhelming favorite of punters in the former Portuguese colony, accounting for 91.5% of total revenues. By contrast, slots make up just 4% of revenues, hauling in 3.9 billion Patacas. Sic Bo is the third most popular game, generating revenues of 2 billion Patacas, which made it more popular that Blackjack and Roueltte.
