US based gambling giant International Game Technology announced that it has licensed the tokidoki brand and will develop slots based on the cartoon figures.

The slots will be released at land based casinos in Macau and Singapore, and are slated for release in 2015.

Tokidoki features anime looking characters and has been an instant hit in Japan since the brand was launched in 2005. The brand focuses on character creation, bringing creatures such as UnicornO, Punkstar, and Moofia to the masses.

Commenting on the deal IGT Vice President of Game Development Joe Sigrist said: "Asia presents such an important market growth opportunity for IGT, and with the licensing of the incredibly popular tokidoki lifestyle brand, we will develop a compelling series of market-attuned games to generate massive excitement among players."

"With our strong focus on developing games that appeal to international audiences, based on themes and game dynamics that resonate regionally, we're very pleased to launch tokidoki for players in Asia, particularly in Macau and Singapore."
