Holland Casino Lost 22.3 Million Euros Last Year

Dutch land casino monopoly Holland Casino Group reported that it lost €22.3 million in 2013, mainly due to one-off costs.

The news comes as the Netherlands is looking to begin offering legalized and regulated online gambling in early 2015, which would bring extra revenue to the casino group.

A portion of the losses were due to debts that were incurred by one time charges of €28.5 million, and the €18 million in reorganizing costs.

Turnover for the casino group was €373 million, down from €400 million in 2012, which was attributed to illegal online gambling and a poor economic climate.
