The Chinese gaming mecca of Macau has announced that it has set a new record for monthly gaming revenues, bringing in an all time high of $4.8 billion for the month of February.
The revenue record saw profits soar by more than 40% when compared to February of 2013. That number blew away analyst projections of growth that were expected to be 29-35%.
The number of gaming revenues on the former Portuguese colony are massive, and would beat the annual revenues brought in for both Singapore and Las Vegas if you counted two months of Macau numbers.
Analysts are predicting annual growth in Macau of 25-30% as middle class gamblers begin making their way to the island destination, as more transportation options are added.
