This story was published more than 10 years ago.

Australian based casino firm Casino Resorts reportedly may be interested in taking over Betfair's Australian betting operation after the UK based firm expressed disappointment in performance.

Currently Crown Resorts and Betfair currently are in a 50/50 partnership to run the sportsbetting business in Australia. If a deal does come together, Crown Resorts would have a 100% stake in a betting license that is held in Tasmania.

Crown Resorts is based in Melbourne and operates betting properties based in Australia and Macau.

No official word on the situation was disclosed by Crown Resorts or Betfair, but Casino Listings will keep on this story and report if any developments arise.
