The US Virgin Islands is ready to begin offer regulated online betting services to punters and operators alike, this according to the territory's Attorney General Vincent Frazer.
Speaking to the press about the issue, Frazer said that the Islands are ready to begin offering legal online gambling and regulation services, noting that the laws are already put into place to begin such an industry. These services would be along the lines of what Delaware, New Jersey, and Nevada have begun offering already.
US Virgin Islands Governor John de Jongh Jr. has voiced his support for such a move, noting: “This marks a turning point in the diversification of our gaming industry from land-based casinos and racinos, to internet gaming and gambling. This Act will fulfill our mission of attracting very successful global internet gaming companies to the Virgin Islands, and encourage new investments to our struggling economy.”
