Malaysian Police Raid 17 Illegal Betting Spots

Police in the Malaysian province of Sarawak announced that they have conducted 17 raids on illegal betting rings, arresting fifteen people and seizing a bunch of equipment.

The raid was announced by DSP Mohd Azam Ismail, who revealed that in addition to the arrests that cash, 280 computers, and fifteen modems were taken into custody.

In similar news, police in Dongguan, Guangdong, China have announced that they have also conducted a raid on an illegal betting operation that employed hundreds of people and offered online betting. The ring was mostly associated with football bets.
