Legislators from Lithuania have submitted a draft gambling law to the European Commission with the goal of having the judging body clarify which operators are allowed to provide betting services within their country.
As the law stands, Lithuania has methods to license casino game operators, place advertising and marketing restrictions, implement slot machines and tables, and control commercial poker operations.
Additional regulations for the Lithuanian online betting law include:
Clean sheet requirement - applies to company and persons employed by the company
A share capital of any license applicant of at least 4 million litas (approx. US$ 1.6 million)
Enforcement measures against illegal operators
Software and technical requirements
License applications available only to public and private limited firms domiciled in the Republic of Lithuania
