US gambling giant International Game Technology has announced that it has expanded its business relationship with Action Gaming, which will see it purchasing patents that are currently being used in several video poker games put out by the Las Vegas based firm.

Those patents will be used to create new games, and are already being used by video poker games including: All Star Poker, Hyper Bonus Poker, and Ultimate X Poker.

Commenting on the deal IGT Vice President of Game Development and Global Product Management said, "IGT and Action Gaming enjoy an outstanding partnership, working together to create the games that video poker players love, while providing casinos with some of the highest-earning games on their floors. Action Gaming Owner Ernie Moody added: "We are confident that the sale of these patents to IGT will ensure its leadership of the video poker market for the foreseeable future. We are very proud of the popular and high revenue producing games we've created for the industry and especially of the successful partnership we've enjoyed with IGT."
