US based betting giant WMS Gaming has been awarded a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office which enables the company to claim the rights to "...multi-game video poker machine and system with asymmetrically accessible customization features."

The patent award was originally filed by WMS on November 2nd, 2011 and was awarded on December 24th, 2013. The product designers listed on the patent are WMS Vice President and Design Head Allon Englman, WMS Game Designer Dion K. Aoiki, and WMS Senior Director of Gaames Joel Jaffe.

The group's documents on the patent claim that the video poker innovation is: “A gaming system with asymmetric customization capabilities and a method of enabling asymmetric customization of a wagering game. A plurality of selectable game-play features are provided for utilization during the wagering game. Players accessing the game-play features are unequally limited as to which features are available for modification, depending on means of access."

“All features, however, are available for game-play, regardless of means of access.”
