Internet betting software designer Scientific Games has announced that it has extended its licensing relationship with game and toy developer Hasbro, which will see the developer being given access to new brands and territories.
The agreement extends the relationship between the two companies and will see Scientific being able offer games from popular game brands such as Monopoly. The deal will see the two firms working together through at least 2020, and there is a three year extension that could take the deal toward 2023.
Scientific Games and Hasbro have a long history of working together, as the two initially inked a deal back in 1997.
Commenting on the extension, Scientific Games Chief Creative Officer Steve Saferin said, "We know the importance of convergence in today's marketing environment, so we are gratified to expand our relationship with Hasbro and leverage opportunities that will arise from employing Hasbro brands with strong consumer appeal across multiple channels simultaneously. The acquisition of WMS has enabled Scientific Games to extend and expand its licenses with Hasbro and to create a one-stop solution for lottery, casino and online gaming for gaming operators."
Hasbro Senior Vice President of Digital Gaming Mark Blecher added: "Expanding our licensing agreements and working more comprehensively with one of our most valued licensees allows us to build on our strong brand presence in the lottery and casino gaming world. We've enjoyed a long and mutually rewarding relationship with both Scientific Games and WMS and their combination presents us with exciting opportunities as we centralize key brands with one licensee across multiple gaming distribution channels."
