Merge Poker Not Accepting Registrations From New Jersey Or Delaware

Late last week the Merge Poker Network announced that it has stopped accepting player registrations from the states of New Jersey and Delaware without giving much information as to why.

Reports of the stopping of player registrations from those states was originally reported by players on the twoplustwo poker forums, but was soon confirmed by a Carbon Poker Spokesman, who said that Merge made the decision to halt registrations after a long consideration period due to what he called "state restrictions".

Currently both New Jersey and Delaware offer legalized online poker to punters in their respective states, and both states have provisions that make unlicensed online gambling a legal offense, with stiff fines in place for operators. It is being speculated that Merge's pullout had to do with these legal provisions.
