Bulgaria Approves eCOGRA As Testing Laboratory

The Bulgarian State Gambling Commission has announced that it has approved eCOGRA as an acceptable testing lab for betting firms looking to enter the country's gambling market.

The approval comes after eCOGRA passed the regulator's tough assessment program and will now be certified to provide third party tests for other operators looking to enter the European country's legal online betting market.

Commenting on his company's approval, eCOGRA Director Tex Rees said, "Our application followed interest expressed by some of the industry’s leading software suppliers and operators who are clients of eCOGRA and are now expressing interest in obtaining a Bulgarian license."

"This followed the change by the Bulgarian government to a tax based on gross gaming revenue, and strict but more practical technical and other operating requirements."

eCOGRA is an independent certification agency based out of London. Over the years it has become a gold standard testing agency, and is utilized by more than 200 of the largest online casinos in operation today.
