This story was published more than 6 years ago.

A professional poker player nearly made the mistake of a lifetime when he accidentally left $300,000 in a Las Vegas Taxi driven by Gerardo Gamboa, who originally thought the bag was candy.

Fortunately for the player, the cab driver is an honest man, who noticed the cash and quickly turned it in to his cab company, who worked with local police to return the bag to the unidentified 28 year old poker pro.

Gamboa's honest style was rewarded by the poker pro, who gave the cab driver a $10,000 tip. Additionally, Gamboa's employer Yellow Checker Star Cab Company gave him a $1,000 bonus as well as a gift card to a Las Vegas steakhouse.
