Norwegians To Put Poker Skill Claim To A Test

This story was published more than 7 years ago.

A Norwegian politician and professional poker player have agreed to a $170,000 heads up poker challenge to test whether or not poker is a game of skill.

The big game will feature Progress Party politician Erlend Wiborg who will square off against Ola "Odd Oddsen" Amundsrud, a pro player. Wiborg supports legalized poker in his country, which currently outlaws the game from being regulated and taxed.

Because of the legal stance of the game, the match will have to take place outside of Norway's borders.

A date and time for the game has not currently been set. Casino Listings will update this story as details emerge.
