Police in Tokyo have announced that they have broken up an online gambling club named the Ocean Club in the Ueno district, arresting four people in the process.

The ring was reportedly operating through an offshore website and offered credits to punters, who then traded those back for cash. In its sixth months of operation, the ring allegedly brought in more than 36 million yen (US $365,000) in profits.

Among those arrested was the Ocean Club Manager Takashi Higa, who admitted his crimes to a television station, noting that the online gambling ring was an easy way to make money.
