Police in Cambodia are reporting that they have carried out a sting related to an illegal online gambling investigation, noting the arrest of thirteen people in the process.
The men were allegedly taken into custody on Saturday night. Four of the men are Cambodian, with an additional nine men hailing from South Korea. The raid took place in a local club, where the online betting ring's headquarters was located.
All of the suspects are set to be charged in a Cambodian court this week.
Commenting on the raid Siem Reap Provincial Police Chief Major General Sorth Dina said, “The suspects were preliminarily accused by police of illegal online gambling, illegal gun use and working as accomplices.”
