Internet betting giant Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment has announced that its New Jersey online casino has been given the go-ahead to offer full services through its partnership website with Atlantic City casino Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa.
Issuing a statement regarding his firm's re-entry to the United States, in which time Bwin CEO Norbert Teufelberger said, “This is an historic day for us. It marks our return to the United States after an absence of seven years. Back in 2006, partypoker had an estimated 47% market share in the US and we have worked hard to ensure that our return delivers a truly great customer experience. The initial feedback from the hundreds of players who have already tested partypoker in New Jersey is encouraging."
“We are delighted to be ‘back in the game’ and are focused on providing great gaming entertainment to customers in New Jersey, with a full suite of casino games, including over 30 proprietary games that are exclusive to the bwin.party network, poker tournaments, jackpots and promotions."
"Our mobile and tablet offer, that will go live soon, will provide access to all of our games through both iOS and Android devices, allowing our customers to enjoy our games when they are on the move in the Garden State.”
Bwin originally left the US betting market in 2006 after the government passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. The bill aimed to outlaw "illegal online betting", although that term was never specifically defined in the law's language. Bwin opted to play it safe, and its return to the market is a success story for the betting giant.
