Internet betting firm Betfair and financial transaction service Skrill have announced that they have received a transactional waiver from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, allowing the firms to launch their services in New Jersey later this month.
Because of the waivers, both Betfair and Skrill will be able to participate in the Garden State's online betting launch on November 26th, after taking part in a soft launch which is scheduled to run between November 21st-25th.
Commenting on the development, BetFair Managing Director of Gaming Paul La Fontaine said, "We're pleased to be one of the pioneers bringing online casino games to the state of New Jersey."
Skrill USA CEO Neil Steinhardt also commented, saying: "We're extremely excited about the new opportunities opening up in the US market for gambling merchants and consumers. Skrill's global reach aligned with local expertise makes us the perfect partner to work with businesses in this market."
In other New Jersey developments, age verification firm Aristotle also announced that they have been granted a waiver that allows it also take part in New Jersey betting operations. Speaking about their waiver award, Aristotle CEO John Aristotle Phillips said, "We are thrilled to have been granted this preliminary go ahead from the New Jersey gaming regulators. It is extremely important to us that it is easy and effective for citizens to verify their identities and ages while protecting their privacy."
