One of Russia's largest internet service providers has reportedly blocked access to internet poker site PokerStars in order to comply with government orders designed to stop illegal online gambling.
The blockade was first realized around September 20th, as members on internet poker community realized that their access to the site was gone.
Users who attempt to access the site are given a notification by the ISP that the site has been blocked due to orders of public authorities. Late last year the Russian Supreme Court ruled that ISPs are responsible for blocking illegal websites.
It is widely thought that PokerStars is the only online poker site that has been blocked to date.
