Internet betting system and testing agency eCOGRA has announced that it has awarded Finnish betting monopoly Ålands Penningautomatförening (Paf) with its "Safe and Secure" certification following an intense operations and systems integrity process.
Paf was given the accreditation by eCOGRA, which certifies that the group passed all fairness, safety, financial, operational, and management standards that the group demands of casinos. Paf currently is powered by Net Entertainment for casino operations, SpieloG2 and Ongame for its poker products, Parlay for bingo, Kambi for sportsbetting, and Evolution or its live dealer offerings.
Paf was founded in 1966 with the goal of using revenues created by the betting interests of the group and using them toward humanitarian uses on the Aland Islands. The group's internet casino currently boasts more than 150 games, while the firm as a whole had turnover of €117 million last year.
Commenting on the certification, eCOGRA Manager Louise Chunnett said, “Paf really is an exceptional company, particularly in the area of responsible gambling, where it has gone to extraordinary lengths to guard against problem and underage gambling, and the involvement of criminal activity."
“Based on our on-site review of the Paf.com operations and software suppliers, we are satisfied that this company’s responsible gambling policies and procedures, and the culture throughout the organization is of the highest standard, comparing favorably with measures in top industry companies we have inspected in the past."
"In fact, Paf has successfully set unique industry standards in its commitment to responsible gaming by developing new dedicated tools which are actively contributing towards establishing higher levels of best practice in this area.”
Paf Senior Manager Taneli Hölttä added: "Passing such an all-embracing and in-depth evaluation as that leading to an eCOGRA Safe and Fair accreditation was something we all worked hard to achieve, so it is very satisfying in both a business and professional sense. We were especially impressed with the inspection team's industry knowledge and constructive comments about our responsible gambling systems, which have been a key focus of our operational activity."
