Internet poker traffic site PokerScout has reported that online poker traffic saw a large jump over the past week, as industry numbers were up 5% for the period.
The jump in traffic is being attributed to rainy and cold weather in Europe, as the industry experienced the best numbers since June.
The amount of traffic was up for all of the top nine poker rooms, with Bodog taking the eighth most visited spot from French betting firm Winamax.
Nevada based online poker rooms Ultimate Poker and WSOP.com were also up, although they only account for a tiny fraction of the online poker market. WSOP had its best numbers since launch, as 192 players were playing cash games on Sunday.
Even with the positive week, online poker is continuing to struggle, especially when compared with the success that the online casino and sportsbetting sectors have seen recently. For the year, international poker traffic is down 9%.
