The state of Nevada has released its latest land casino revenue numbers for the month of August, noting that statewide numbers rose 11.2% over the same period in 2012.
Key financial indicators for August 2013 were:
$955.3 million in statewide casino wins, up $96 million from the same period in 2012.
Baccarat brought in $193.6 million for the month, up 55.6% frmo the same period last year.
The industry would still have seen a 3.7% revenue increase for the month, even if baccarat wins weren't counted.
Betting volume was down $13.1 million, but win percentage was 18.5%, which was up 11.9% from last year.
Las Vegas Strip casinos brought in $816.7 million for the month, up 12.3% from last year.
Clark County casino revenues were up almost 20% when compared to 2012.
Washoe County casinos brought in $73.8 million for the month, up 8.4% over 2012.
Reno based casinos were up 9.7% for the month.
$11.3 billion was bet on table games and slot machines for the month. $1 billion of that was bet on baccarat.
Table game and slot wins were up 35% for the month to $110.7 million.
Commenting on the numbers Nevada Gaming Control Board Senior Analyst Mike Lawton said, "It was the highest baccarat hold percentage since June 1999. The house ran extremely hot. It's pretty much an anomaly, what that hold percentage was."
"The month was really carried by baccarat but other games had a strong month, too."
