The gaming regulators in Malta and Alderney have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with each other, which will allow the two gaming bodies to work together to investigate and learn about issues related to internet gaming.

The agreement will allow for the Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority and Alderney Gambling Control Commission to share information regarding investigations, remote gaming services, cloud regulation, server location issues, player liquidity, and more.

Commenting on the agreement AGCC CEO Andre Wilsenach said, “The MOU is an important step in the development and sharing of common regulatory best practices, including employee exchange programs, common certification standards and other practical and operative arrangements to reflect technological and other developments in the area, which should benefit operators in both jurisdictions as it will endeavor to reduce the amount of duplication and costs of doing business in the two jurisdictions."

LGA Chairman Mario Galea added: "With this MOU the two jurisdictions recognize the common values underlying their regulation of remote gaming namely to ensure consumer protection and the protection of society and public order, among others, and to regulate in such a way as to ensure fair, responsible and secure provision of gaming services, implemented through robust and comprehensive systems, mechanisms and monitoring.”
