Australian sports wagering brand Sportsbet is the most recognized betting brand in its home country, a survey published in an advertising periodical claims.
The survey was carried by Global Reviews and shows that Sportsbet is the top of mind brand for 34% of those surveyed. The second most recognized brand is Tab, which came in with a 21% top of mind rate.
William Hill subsidiary Tom Waterhouse carries just a 12% top of mind ranking, while another of its recent acquisitions Sportingbet only carried a 6% brand rating.
When given the survey, respondents were not prompted with choices to start. When those who couldn't name a brand were given brand choices, TAB came in highest with 33%, while Sportsbet ranked second at 27% and Tom Waterhouse coming a distant third at 12%.
The brand recognition for William Hill's Australian properties may not last too much longer, as the firm announced it would be merging Sportingbet and Tom Waterhouse together to form William Hill Australia.
