Internet betting giant Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment has announced that it is all set to begin operations in New Jersey when online gaming goes live in November.
Bwin is partnering with Boyd Gaming and MGM Resorts to provide its betting services through the Borgata Casino and Resort, which is based in Atlantic City.
The comments came through Bwin's Director of Communications, John Shepherd, who said: “Everybody is going to be jockeying for position, but we plan to be there on Day 1. We’ve spent the last two years rebuilding it from top to bottom. It has been changed to keep up with I-gaming technologies. It is faster, cleaner and integrates social media.”
Bwin will also launch an online poker site when operations go live in the Garden State though Borgata's infrastructure. Speaking to the Press of Atlantic City on the issue, Borgata Senior Vice President of Operations said, “We have aligned ourselves with Europe’s premier Internet provider for online poker. We couldn’t be happier. We have the full intention of leading the online market, as we do with the brick-and mortar business. Bwin.party’s support, experience and partnership are primary reasons why it will work so successfully here in New Jersey.”
Speaking about whether e-Gaming and land based operations are complimentary, Shepherd said, “In a way, it’s a business feeder to the poker rooms at the casinos."
