US land gambling giant Wynn Resorts has applied for a New Jersey online gambling license, a unique move for the firm as they do not currently have any active operations in Atlantic City.
The move to apply for the license was reported by The Press of Atlantic City, who said that the move has already taken place, but that further details are scarce.
Because Wynn Resorts does not currently own any Atlantic City casinos, the company would have to ink a sponsorship deal with a current casino operator. Any impending sponsorship has not been announced. Currently only two casinos -- Revel Casino Hotel and the Atlantic Club Casino Hotel have yet to announce online gambling partnerships.
