Macau Sees July Revenues Jump By 20%

The government of Macau has released its latest monthly revenue figures for the world's largest gambling destination, noting that the island gaming spot brought in 29.5 billion patacas ($3.7 billion USD) in July.

The increase is a jump of 20% over the same period in 2012, and fell in line with analyst projections of 18-21%.

Interestingly, the numbers show that Macau's revenues have not yet been affected by the downturn in China's economy. That is due in part to the fact that more middle class gamblers have found their way to Macau on holiday, which offsets the drop in VIP players.
