After it recently made waves for blacklisted a series of betting websites that have been offering action to its citizens, the government of Bulgaria announced that it will open a system for which online gaming operators can apply for a license.
The move to block online betting sites was strange, as Bulgaria had yet to announce a way of licensing any operators from within its borders. Operators interested in legally offering online betting services in Bulgaria will be able to apply through the State Commission on Gambling's website.
The registration portal is set to go live by next week and is reportedly still being tested.
Casino Listings will keep readers updated on any developments which arise from the opening of gaming license applications.
