Police in Malaysia continued their crackdown on internet gambling by announcing that they have raided six sites in the Labuan region, arresting 24 people connected with cyber betting.
The raids also resulted in the seizure of 79 computers, cash, and other evidence that will be used against the defendants.
Speaking about the arrests, Police Spokesman Supt. Adzhar Othman said, "Labuan police will give priority to efforts to combat online gambling and information from the public is very much needed to prevent online gambling from becoming rampant."
Additionally, power will reportedly be cut off to the sites where the raid was conducted to ensure that future illegal activities will not be able to commence.
