The world's largest gambling destination has released its first half 2013 financial results, noting yet another period with large growth for the gambling mecca.

The Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau announced that the island gaming destination brought in 172 billion patacas for the first half of the year. That is the equivalent of 21.5 billion U.S. dollars.

Baccarat was the biggest moneymaker for the casinos, bringing in 91.3% of the total revenue (115.8 billion patacas for VIP baccarat, and 40.7 billion patacas for standard baccarat). Slot machines generated 7.1 billion patacas in revenues, and cussec brought in revenue.

Macau's growth isn't surprising, but the rate of the growth certainly is. The market was expected to slow in growth due to China's economic slowdown.
