Couple Nearly Throws Away Million Dollar Lotto Ticket

A couple in Massachusetts nearly threw away one million dollars when they accidentally threw their winning ticket into the trash can.

The two bought the ticket in a vending machine and then put the card into their shopping bag. When they got home they forgot about the card and threw the bag into the trash.

The next day Joseph Zagami remembered that he bought the ticket, asking his with Joanne if she had scratched it yet. The couple then scrambled to find the ticket. When the ticket was found it was scratched... and made the husband and wife instantly wealthy

The Zagamis have decided to take the lump sum of $650,000. After taxes they will get $455,000 with which they will pay off their mortgage and take a vacation.

Never mind throwing away the ticket. I'm more disappointed for the winners that only got to keep $455,000 from a "million dollar" winning ticket.
