The World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas has helped see the state's first legalized online poker site, as Ultimate Poker has seen more active players using the service.
Internet poker traffic monitor PokerScout reported that the thousands of poker players coming to Vegas has boosted Ultimate Poker by 33%. The site reports that Ultimate Poker brought in more than 550 players on Friday, a new record for the burgeoning site. The new average for the site has also jumped to 200 players at any given time.
Launching before the start of the tournament has proven to be a wise move for Ultimate Poker, as other legalized online poker sites are expected to launch in Nevada in the summer.
