Ultimate Poker Deals Out 2 Million Hands In First Month

The first legalized poker room in the United States has dealt out more than two million hands of poker in its first month in operations.

Currently the intrastate poker room is only offering Texas Hold'em games, but the site is slowly expanding its capabilities. Player caps are also being increased, as are betting limits, which is being attributed to the site's success.

Ultimate Poker is claiming that the initial success is due to a variety of things, especially a centralized marketing effort which includes promotion by land casinos, television ads, radio spots, and billboard advertising.

According to internet poker site Quadjacks: "Ultimate Poker is now the 33rd largest online poker room in the world in terms average cash game player counts based on the previous seven days. It is the 6th largest U.S.-facing online poker network, a notable accomplishment considering the top five accept players from most U.S. states and Ultimate Poker only accepts players in Nevada for the time being."

While it is the first legal site in Nevada, Ultimate Poker will not be the Silver State's only legalized poker site. Many online operators are gearing up to launch their poker software later in the year.
