Belgium Blocks Five More Sites

The government of Belgium has decided to ban five additional sites in its attempt to shutter offshore illegal operators.

The Belgian Gaming Commission made the move to block out BetVictor.com, Casinograndluxe.com, Cityclubcasino.com, Monacasino.com and Royalcasino.com in its latest blacklist. Currently Belgian law requires the country's Internet Service Providers to block access to the offending sites.

With the five new blacklisted sites, the BGC ban extends to 74 different sites. Those found skirting the law could be subject to fines of up to €100,000 per day for operators and €25,000 for players.

Thus far the blockade has been only partially successful, as only half of Belgium's ISPs are working with the gambling operator.
