The UK Advertising Standards Authority has cleared the BBC and betting group Coral of any wrongdoing after the television giant unwittingly aired the betting group's adverts on some of its child based stations.

The offending spots aired on the Boomerang and Cartoon Network channels on May 25th between 06:42 BST and 08:42. The spot promoted Coral's betting brands and showed an image of the Incredible Hulk.

The ASA cleared both businesses of wrongdoing, stating that both groups had simply made a mistake and had apologized profusely.

For its part the Turner owned stations said, "We apologise unreservedly and have reviewed our transmission processes to ensure this highly regrettable incident remains a one-off occurrence."
