Illegal Mobile Betting Growing in Korea

Despite the fact that it is currently illegal, the number of punters in South Korea placing bets on mobile devices is growing higher, this according to a report by the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation.

Over the past four years the number of punters placing sports bets through mobile means has grown by about 25 times, with an estimated 23,000 users placing bets online.

The act of betting is illegal to practice in South Korea, but the law is hard to enforce unless a business entity is conducting betting operations.
