This story was published more than 10 years ago.

Belgium's gaming regulator has announced that it has banned five new betting sites that the country deems to be illegal.

The Belgian Gaming Commission updated their list that the European country's Internet Service Providers are required to block access to. The new sites being blocked include some heavy hitters, with PKR.com, Redbet, GoldenCherry, and Klavercasino all being shown the boot.

With those additions, Belgium's blocked site list now totals 69. The country made the controversial decision to restrict internet access to betting sites that have land casinos in the country and their partners. The move has been widely panned throughout the continent, with many companies lodging complaints with the European Commission.
