UK based betting firm Betfred has announced that it will be launching its own TV channel in time for the horse racing mega event Cheltenham Festival.
The channel is set to be developed by SIS and will host content from its MediaCityUK studio in Salford. The studio has the ability to provide full production services including editing and voice overs.
The plans are for the channel to air in all of Betfred's 1,365 retail shops and will feature analysis and content of particular interest to punters.
Commenting on the channel Betfred Head Fred Done said: “Who would have thought that less than a mile from my first-ever shop in 1967 I now have my own TV channel in MediaCity! It’s exciting times and the most important part of the channel will be to entertain and inform punters. At the end of the day we are in the entertainment industry and this is a great platform."
“It’s all about how we package the channel and I’m delighted we are launching just before the biggest week of the year.”
