888 Releases First Real Money Facebook Casino App

This story was published more than 10 years ago.

Internet gaming giant 888 has announced that it has launched the world's first real money casino gambling app on the social media site Facebook with its MAGIC888 offering.

The launch will allow UK punters aged 18 and older the ability to wager on casino games in a social environment. The company has worked hard to stress that age verification and strong identity checks have been put into place in order to avoid any underage players from gambling for real money.

Games included in the initial offering are slot and table games that are found through the casino's normal site. Also making an appearance is 888's Live Deal Casino.

Commenting on the launch 888 COO Itai Frieberger said: "This launch marks a significant extension in our real money social offering. The successful launch of BingoAppy has indicated the potential that social gaming offers, and we are delighted to expand our gaming portfolio with the launch of our MAGIC888 casino. The app gives Facebook users in the UK the opportunity to enjoy 888's award winning casino while introducing new features which leverage the social experience Facebook offers."

This is pretty awesome if you ask me. It is always neat to see the way that the online gambling industry is evolving. Next up, Zynga?
