The Nevada Gaming Control Board has announced the statistics for wagers placed on the Superbowl, noting that $98 million in wagers were recorded for the event.
Gross wins for the legal sportsbooks amounted to $7,206,460, which was a rate of 7.3%. The numbers are an increase over the previous year, which saw $93,899,840 wagered with $5,064,470 being won back by bookies.
The line for the Superbowl at game time was 3.5 points in favor of San Francisco with the over under at 49. The Baltimore Ravens ended up beating San Francisco 34-31 in a thrilling game, beating both betting standards set by the book makers.
