Pokerstars Inks Sponsorship Deal With Olympique Lyonnais

Internet poker group PokerStars has announced that it has signed a sponsorship deal with French football club Olympique Lyonnais which will see it become the team's official betting partner.

As part of the agreement PokerStars will obtain branding rights at Stade de Gerland, Olympique Lyonnais' field of play as well as positioning for website promotions, special tournaments, prize giveaways, and TV broadcasts.

Olympique Lyonnais was founded in 1950 as a national football club and currently is playing in Ligue 1, which is France's highest division.

The deal's announcement comes shortly after the poker giant announced that it had become the official betting partner of Racing Club de Lens, which is another French football team that plays in the country's Ligue 2 division.
