Internet Sports Betting In Italy Sees Uptick In Revenues

Internet based sports betting grew slightly in Italy in 2012, as the country's gambling regulator AAMS reported revenues of €3.94 billion, which is up 2.37% from 2011.

The increase in numbers is being attributed to the Euro 2012 tournament and Olympic games.

Live betting saw the largest increase in revenues, as its take rose 54% for the period.

The largest three companies in terms of market shares are listed as:

  • SNAI, with 31.07% market share

  • Lottomatica, with 20.72% market share

  • Matchpoint, with 13.16% market share
