UK betting giant William hill announced that they are refunding bets placed over the Christmas Day episode of the soap show "East Enders".
The controversy began when the show's main villain Derek Branning died after suffering a heart attack. The company had paid out bets that were placed on him being responsible for his own death, while refunding all other wagers placed.
Commenting on the issue Will Hill Spokesperson Joe Crilly said: “Derek had enough enemies to justify his murder, but it seemed that nature did everyone a favor. Years of tough living took their toll and so we paid out on him and refunded on everyone else.”
